I love anything that has to do with dune even if it's under par. the lynch version had the budget but too short to explain such a complex novel,the sci-fi channel mini series had the time to explain but had no money. of the scenes look like the actors are in a giant sandbox with a poster of the desert in the background. a combination of the two would make the ultimate version.

The basic story of the battle between the Harkonnen and the Atreides and their Fremen allies is crystal clear to any viewer paying attention, even without being familiar with the book.
I've yet to read a negative review by a professional critic that wasn't just full of spleen and devoid of any reference to the cinematic evidence in the actual film. The IMDB users have got the point of it and are far more reasonable in their assessment of the film.
Mr Lynch, I wish you'd revise your relationship to the film, put aside all the studio nonsense you were subjected to, and be proud to own it.
